How portion conversion works
To adapt a recipe to a different number of people, just multiply every quantity by a scale factor: desired servings divided by original servings. If a recipe for 4 people needs 300 g of flour and you want to cook for 6, the factor is 6÷4 = 1.5, so you need 450 g. The converter applies this calculation automatically to every row of your ingredient list, also handling the conversion between metric units (grams, litres) and US units (cups, oz).
